Hair cuts
Tonight I am taking Tyler to get his hair cut at Dolce Salon and Spa!!! Tyler has had the exact same hair cut since 8th grade, and it is time for a change. He has been wanting to cut his hair for a while and the director of the musical finally gave him the okay... so tonight is the night! I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures and so you will be able to see the final unveiling!
You also need to come out and see his musical next weekend... March 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7:30pm! Copacabana... Tyler is the piano player and ensamble member! He'll have cool hair and everything.

Apartment update
Jack called (a miracle) and told me the guy who is supposed to be cleaning up the bathroom has been giving him the runaround all week. He said that it'll probably be cleaned in the next couple of days, but even then it'll smell for a few days after that. I told him not to worry and that I am out of town this weekend anyway so he doesn't have to stress and I'll give him a call at the beginning of next week... he liked that idea a lot and told me to keep in touch. I am sure it is a great relief for him to not be stressing about me needing to get in there, and I am relieved to have a little more time to pack (which is a slow going process without boxes - did you know they cost $2 each at Home Depot... I didn't buy them and went to a grocery store instead, but even they didn't have a lot of boxes for me).
Disneyland is in just three days! YAY! My dad is there currently with the staff of our church probably having the time of him life! Kendra and I talked today about what we'll bring into the park and how we'll probably get a locker so we don't have to carry around sweatshirts and the like all day long. We also need to decide on snacks and stuff.
I am kind of nervous about driving there... I'm a good driver though... so it shouldn't be a big problem.

Apartment peeking
So I went to scope out my apartment today... I couldn't find Jack, but I did peek in the windows to see what the condition is... looks clean and such... also discovered that I'll have a dish washer! or at least that is what it looks like... score! I'll have to call and see if I can get the keys this wednesday!
I use to have a dream of accepting an academy award for best actress... I still practice with a shampoo bottle from time to time, but NOW my dream is to be a seat filler... that's right! They actually have people as "seat fillers" who, when a movie star or someone goes to the restroom or up to win or present an award, these people sit in their seat so the pictures of the audience still look full... granted I would be moving around the entire evening, but I could have the chance to sit next to someone like Meryl Streep, Leonardo Dicaprio, Nicole Kidman, Angelina Jolie, George Clooney... list goes on. That is now my dream... my goal.
I am laughing hystarically at John C Riley, Jack Black, and Will Farrell.

Last night I dreamt I got to tap dance with Gene Kelly... and then we fell in love... it was a sweet old hollywood musical dream. I like those.
So I went to my church's 24/7 prayer event... it was really cool. Not all of the booths set up up really tugged at my heart, but a couple of them really spoke to me. I journaled and cried a little bit (I always do that when I really feel God)... but I spent a ton of time at this collage table... the object was you could either flip through magazines and seek out pictures to represent something that was on your heart, or you could just flip through and cut out anything that caught your eye - pictures, words, etc then see what God want to say to you. I did the latter. It didn't seem to have any rhyme or reason, but when I was done I layed out everything I had collected and was so surprised at how God was touching my heart... really speaking to who I was. It was awesome... so I wanted to share my collage with you.
It also gave me ideas for scrapping.

Talked to Jack at Glenwood Terrace about my apartment... everything should be done by next week... so I'll be moving in shortly.
I rearranged my schedule to allow for a day off work March 8th, so that'll probably the start of my official move-in weekend... what this means is, I have to start packing... ugh. I am really nervous that packing will be a lot harder emotionally than I expected... I don't like to think about it. I'll probably cry.
Onto happier subjects... I am going to disneyland in one week from tomorrow... SO EXCITED!!! I am checking the weather reports and yesterday is said rain expected for March 2nd... the day we are at the park, but then today I checked again (I know, obsessive) and it said sunny... so there is still some debate. Rain will stink for enjoying the park, but will make for a less crowded park... I prefer it to rain actually, I have an umbrella.
Kind of would love to go on this... but money does not permit.

"Pray" by Kendall Payne
I will pray for you now, for you have been my faithful friends
While the road we walk is difficult indeed
I couldn't not ask for more than what you've already been
Only that you would say these prayers for me
May your heart break enough that compassion enters in
May your strenght all be spent upon the weak
All the castles and crowns you build and place upon your head
May they all fall, come crashing down around your feet
May you find every step to be harder than the last
So your character grows greater every stride
May your company be of human insignificance
May your weakness be your only source of pride
What you do unto others may it all be done to you
May you meet the One who made us
And see Him smile when life is through
May your blessings be many but not what you hoped they'd be
And when you look upon the broken
May mercy show you what you could not see
May you never be sure of any plans you desire
But you'd learn to trust the plan He has for you
May your passions be tried and tested in the holy fire
May you fight with all your life for what is true
I have prayed for you now all my dear and faithful friends
But what I wish is more than I could eever speak
As the way wanders on I'll long to see you once again
Until then, would you pray these prayers for me?
Oh, that you would pray for me

I love weddings...
Just got back from the wedding of a close family friend. Kristen Martin became Kristen Nunley tonight... it was beautiful. I find that I start thinking about my wedding someday when I am sitting in someone else's... it doesn't help that everyone kept telling me all night - "someday this will be you". I get so excited about my wedding day... I mean come on!! You're a princess for an entire day! So my parents and I talked all the way home about weddings and what I picture about my wedding day... Kristen's wedding was absolutely beautiful and romantic.
This is me decked out for the wedding... I don't often have an excuse to dress really nice, so when I get the opportunity, I take full advantage... my dress is super comfy too because it's linen... so I thought I would get some self-portraits in while I am all done up.

"No Day But Today"
So Rent was last night at Gammage and I was sitting pretty in great seats in the Grand Tier with my dear friend Teresa with me. We have become quite the Theater buddies, having seen Les Miserables, Aida, Doubt, and now Rent together! Last night's performance of Rent was incredile... I had been told that Rent on the stage was so much better than the movie (and I didn't disagree) but I had no idea how vast the degree of difference was - the stage version is 100,000X better than the movie!! I laughed, I cried... I even mooed (which only "Rent-heads" will understand. What a show, what a cast... everyone blew me away with their talent! I was even pleased to see the original costuming - Rogers plaid pants being a highlight. I wanted to start singing along with all the music, but I knew that the people around me did not attend the show to hear me sing, but it didn't stop me from humming during intermission. The clincher and proof that I loved the show was me crying during curtain call... hahaha, I know it sounds silly, but I cried during Les Miserables and got choked up during Dirty Rotten Scoundrels so I have learned that if I love a show, I cry during the curtain call. Totally didn't fail me this time... I just couldn't get over how much I loved every second of it.
So the guy who played Roger - Declan Bennett - definitely caught my attention... everyone's voice was very reminisent of the original cast (not a bad thing by any means, but Maureen's voice was along the lines of Idina and Mark was Anthony Rapp all the way), but Roger's voice was so new and original... and pure. Adam Pascals voice is so Rock Star-ish, but Declan really added a new sound to One Song Glory (listen here) as well as Roger's other songs... I swooned, I'll be honest. What really took the cake was he's from England... straight off the boat! I swooned further! He didn't have an accent in the show, but sometimes it would slip. I just thought he was awesome.
Now I am sitting in my room with the soundtrack playing... it'll probably be playing for a few days!!
P.S. Declan totally just commented on my myspace page!!!! Check out his stuff on his page... great voice like I said.

Woke up this morning with a raging crick in my neck... I slept wrong, and I hate that.
Went to work today and was able to get some neck work done by a student who came in for a study session! when i got done it was about 11am (I was planning to work till 1pm) and my boss told me that if no more students were coming into see me that I could go and enjoy my long weekend... SCORE!!!! So my friend Marie and I left early from work to get some Olive Garden for lunch, she had a gift certificate. I now have some great left overs for the weekend!
Mom and Tyler and I just got back from Ikea! Tyler wanted some chocolate bars and I wanted to take a gander at the "As is" section and low and behold a treasure was to be found... a book shelf! I needed one for my photo albums and books and everything...
Isn't it awesome... great thing to is that it fits my scrapbooks and my oversized year books... perfect! The bottom drawers are actually from Target and they also fit like a glove! It will act as book shelf, regular shelf, and anything else I need it for. I am excited... although still no word from Jack about the status of my apartment.
I have been thinking and I am actually hoping things get delayed a little bit, because between Disneyland trip and New York trip, I will have little time to properly move in... so I am hoping I can get the keys closer to the 15th (and pay half months rent) and then actually move my stuff in after New York... that way I get quality move in time, and I am not rushed. So cross your fingers for that.

My friend brought in a box of snicker-doodle cookies to work today and no one else wants them, so I have eaten 3... someone stop me!!
I went down to Home Depot yesterday to take a look at paint chips, I can't paint anything in the apartment, but it gave me color combo ideas. I also picked up a couple decorating tips pamphlets in the paint section to get more ideas. My mom got a bunch of stuff from a friend of hers for me and my apartment - things like dishes, mugs, a lamp, some pot holders, etc. So yesterday afternoon my mom took me through some of the stuff I get to have for my new place. The dishes I got were really quite awesome... bowls, cups, plates, everything. SWEET!
Last night I went to TGI Fridays with the mom and dad... we got a seat right next to the window so when it started raining and lightening and thundering, we got to see all the action. My mom kept telling all the servers and people sitting around us that it was raining... we have gotten such great weather lately.
Then, after dinner I went over to Jessica's parents' house to watch Lost with her and her parents... what a great episode - I love Desmond!!! (he was my valentine... I decided during the episode)

On my lunch today I went down to IKEA with Tom to pick up a catalog (we also walked around the whole store in 45 minutes, because apparently I am a fast walker)... I then went back to work and spent 30 minutes thumbing through the whole catalog putting post-its on all the stuff I want. I am by no means going to buy any of the stuff (well at least not all of it), but it gave me ideas for things I can be looking for at thrift stores and the like. It also helped me figure out the general color schemes for each of the rooms - kitchen, living room, Bedroom, office (bedroom 2), and bathroom. I am excited about what I have planned!
Saved by the Bell
I woke up this morning earlier than I needed to (by a half hour), so I had a little extra time to watch some TV after getting ready... flipping through the channels I came upon Saved By The Bell... it was the episode with "Zack Attack" where they form a band and subsequently break up, but then they find they are "Friends Forever" and do a reunion concert. The hair, the make-up, the pitiful vocal dubbing... It was awesome... emotional roller-coaster.
Today I am at work all day, but with nothing to do. Therefore, I will be searching around the Ikea website for home decor... just for inspiration for the apartment. I may also pop over to Crate & Barrel website and of course Target.com.

I won!!
I just won a 1956 Disneyland Pictorial Souvenir Guide on ebay! It normally goes for about $75, but I got it on ebay for $17... I'm awesome! It was the very first official Pictorial Guide sold at Disneyland (there is a guide released in 1955, but it has only artist renditions of the rides and the park... I am looking for that one still). This guide is a wonderful addition to my collection!! SUPER!
yay me!
I stopped by the apartments today to see how my application process was coming along, and if I was in the running. I ran into Jack (the manager) on his way to his car and introduced myself again and asked if there was a place for me... he said that it is mine as long as I am still interested. The former resident moved out this past monday and he said hopefully he will be able to get in a repaint soon. He said he is still aiming for a March 1st move in date... YAY!!! I told him to give me a call when everything settles down... and then we parted ways.
I can't believe it... I was preparing for march, but since no one had called me, I figured it may not happen. I am still not packing anything until I have a contract signed... I just can't bring myself to do it. Wow... I mean wow! I will be moving... exciting... and emotional... jeepers (don't cry mom).
In other news I saw The Queen this afternoon... it was really good. All the actors were wonderful. The guy who played Prince Charles was mis-cast, but Helen Mirren was impecable as Queen Elizabeth and Michael Sheen as Tony Blair. It was really strange to be reliving the week after Princess Diana died... I remembered so much - I was in 6th grade when it happened. I got really sad to see all the archive footage. The whole movie was really well done... totally oscar worthy. I loved it.

LOST is back!!!
Last night the second half of the Lost season started!!! I was so excited... it was a good episode, but I am getting frustrated with the fact that the show seems to just bring up more questions than it answers!!! ugh! I felt so unfulfilled after it ended last night. Don't get me wrong, I love every minute and thought it was super thrilling... just frustrating that it moves so slow... SPEED IT UP! I only have so much left in me.

NEW YORK!!!!!
I'm going to New York!!!! March 15-19!!!!! Tyler's choir is going for tour, and I am going to be a chaperone! We are going to see Hairspray and Mama Mia on Broadway... and Ground Zero, Ellis Island, Carnegie Hall, Time Square, list goes on... I AM SO EXCITED!!!! I have NEVER been to New York and what a great way to go... everything is planned, and even though I won't have a bunch of free time to explore, I will get to see a lot of stuff behind the scenes (oh did I mention the choir gets to sing on stage at Carnegie Hall... of and we are having workshops with the casts of both Hairspray and Mama Mia before we see their shows... yep not many other people get that!) Tyler is also turning 18 years old while we are there, so I get to be with my brother in New York on his 18th birthday!
So excited! So awesome! Must figure out what I am going to wear!

At home watching TV... It is rare when I get to watch a TV show in real time... with the 4 TV shows that I watch I usually have to tape or watch them online. But tonight I got to watch Heroes... AWESOME!!! Now in style celebrity weddings is on... so pretty!
So this whole guide book collection is starting out well... I bought one on ebay (it was only $6)... it was the 1987 edition (which was the year of my first trip to the park... that trip is also my very first vivid memories - most notably meeting Cinderella)... now I am waiting on the 1956 edition (the bidding ends in 4 days or so) which is the very first guide that came out... the bidding is getting pretty high though. After that I am done for the time being

I have become my mother... the transformation is almost complete... I have started a "collection"!!! and the reason it is so like my mother is because I only have one of the things in my "collection" (thus the " " marks). I am going to be collecting Disneyland pictorial souvenir guides. I purchased one at a church thrift store a couple of years ago just because it was cute and had older pictures of disneyland (circa 1981)... then when I bought this history of disneyland book at the park a year ago I discovered my little book is apart of disneyland history and worth safe-keeping. So I finally looked good and hard tonight (with my mom, the knower of all object where-abouts in our house) and we (she) found it!!! So I did a little research online and there are a few on ebay for around $25 each, but I want to try to find them for cheaper else where (where else should I look besides ebay?). In the words of my mother "the thrill is in the hunt"... hahaha... transformation complete!
one of my favorite authors, the author of my favorite book - Francine Rivers has a movie coming out based on her book "The Last Sin Eater". It is actually one of the few books of hers that I have not read... but I have heard that it is really really good... so tomorrow I will be picking up that book to read next. I am not sure when the movie will be coming to theaters or if it is coming to Phoenix... but either way I am super excited... maybe Redeeming Love will be made into a movie next.
I finally finished Peter Pan in Scarlet... it was wonderful. Really a sweet and cleverly written piece of work.
I will be calling Jack at my future apartments tomorrow to see how my application is coming along and if I have a chance at an apartment by next month.

New link...
My friend Kelsie Pinkerton is diving into her Photography business full speed ahead... she is immensly talented!!!! If you are getting married or would like family portraits or graduation portraits done - she is the gal for you! So check her out on my links list... you can take a look at some of her galleries!
sigh...
super long exhausting week is over... dinner with friends tonight... sleep... disneyland ticket buying tomorrow morning (I'm going to Disneyland)... I am so not with it right now.
Can I tell you I couldn't find my car in the parking lot of work today (note there were only about twenty cars there)... I have been so out of it all day thus far... so I used my keyless entry to honk the horn... yep... I was standing right next to it. If that is not a sign for me to take a nice restful nap right now, I don't know what is.

Screwtape Letters
So apparently they are making a film about CS Lewis' book "The screwtape letters" pretty cool... It will be released in 2008 along with "Prince Caspian", which is the second book in the Narnia series.
You can read the blurb here.
