I think my heater is broken...

I have to set on like 80 degrees now and it still won't get above 67 degrees... do we all agree that something may be terribly wrong with my heater? I have never paid much attention to heating systems until now, so maybe this is how it works? hehe ;)

Yes, something is wrong with your heater Miranda!
Hope they can fix it for you soon!

I know it has been five years since you had this problem, but I still want to know what happened. Were you able to get the heater fixed or did you just buy a new one? I think the problem was on the thermostat. Maybe the wires weren’t connected enough, so the temperature you set is not received by the heater. Take care, Miranda!

Time may have passed, but the technology behind heaters and HVAC system is still the same. Your issue could’ve gone down into different directions. If you replaced the heater, I hope you were able to choose the right type for your house. If it was only a minor defect, like what Mignon suggested, I hope no hidden problems came to light. I’m certain that the heater should be working until now if it was maintained properly. :)

How long have you been using your heater? Aside from the possibilities mentioned by Mignon and Georgia, maybe your heater is already “old” that’s why it’s not functioning well. Anyway, next time, pay attention and give importance to the regular cleaning and maintenance of your heater.
